Q: How much does it cost to take this class?
A: All public group classes are free, however the gun range does require a $50 entry fee to partake in the shooting qualification test on Day 2 of this class.

Q: How old do you need to be to take this class?
A: All course participants must be 21 years of age or older.
Q: Can non-Illionis residents take this class?
A: No. As this is an Illionis State Certified class, only Illionis residants are permitted to register for this class.
Q: How long is this class?
A: This is an 16 hour class separated into two, consecutive 8 hour days from 9am CST to 5pm CST on both days. No early dismissal. Day 1 takes place in a classroom setting. Day 2 takes place in a gun range.
Q: Can I take this class online?
A: No, this is a mandatory in person class.
Q: Do I need a FOID Card to take this class?
A: No, you do not need a FOID Card to take this class. However, if you are a current FOID Card holder, whose card has be revoked for any reason, you may not take this class.
Q: Do I need to bring my own firearm?
A: No, firearms are included in the gun range fee.
Q: Do I need to get fingerprinted to take this class?
A: No, you do not need to get fingerprinted in order to take this class, however, doing so will expedite the processing of your certificate.
Q: When will I receive my certificate?
A: Upon succefully completing the full 16 hour class as well as receiving a passing score on the shooting qualification exam you will be issued a certified certificate.
Q: What are the next steps after I complete this class?
A: Once you have successfully completed this class and have received your certified certificate, you will then need to upload your certificate to the state site and apply for your Illinois Conceal Carry license.
Q: What if my certificate is lost or damaged?
A: You can contact us for a replacement certificate for a fee of $50. However, if your certificate is expired or will have expired by the time a new one is issued, you will have to retake the class.
Q: Can I still take this class if I have a crimminal record?
A: Individuals with felonies or convicted of a violent crime are not permitted to take this class.
